Community Priorities & Change Agendas

Our community has been consulted over many years.

Key priorities identified by our community in 2024 included disrupting intergenerational cycles through prevention and intervention, early wrap-around support, and improved service navigation, a ‘no wrong door’ approach.

Our work will build on the voices already captured. Our priorities will be to establish a baseline to reflect ‘Current Status’ – including both qualitative and quantitative data (statistics and stories), and test this with the community, to demonstrate that they have been heard, and support identifying current priority needs and where to focus the SPSP investment.

The systems change we hope to see and celebrate through our work as a reflection of what we have heard from our community about their vision for the future, includes family-centred policy and practice, by families, for families, driven by the experience of families.

Trust and relational approach across the system information sharing and communication loops for informed shared decision-making and empowered community-led improvements for our families.

Capricornia SPSP has just completed our first Learning Circle to reflect on where we are now and identify priorities for the next 12 months. While the current work is predominantly limited to efforts of our Leadership Group, we hope to role model the behaviours we need to see across our community and partners to enable the conditions required for systems change through collective impact.

The early shifts we celebrated through our learning circle included:

  • Increased trust and relationship building within and across LG members and partners
  • Sustained interest from community demonstrated through response to recent contact and EOI to join the LG – a promising sign for the momentum we want to grow across community over the next 12 months
Community Leadership & Governance

Our Leadership Group of volunteer community members is a diverse representation of our community, including First Nations and Australian South Sea Islander representation. Capricornia SPSP is auspiced by CQUniversity.
